EZ Mask is an easy to use interactive image masking tool capable of extracting
almost any object in an image--even if you are dealing with fine hair detail,
smoke, or reflections.


EZ Mask is an easy to use interactive image masking tool capable of extracting
almost any object in an image--even if you are dealing with fine hair detail, smoke,
or reflections. This extraction process creates what is known as a mask--essentially
a black and white cutout. White mask areas are extracted, black areas not, and gray
areas in between represent a level of transparency. Once a mask is extracted, the
foreground object can be seamlessly composed onto a new background in Adobe Photoshop
or Photoshop Elements as well as apply filter and image corrections only within the
area defined by the mask.
To work this magic, EZ Mask iteratively estimates the transparency value for every
pixel in the image, based on a small sample of foreground (what you want to cut out)
and background pixels marked by simple strokes on the image.

Results show that compared with previous approaches, our method is more efficient and
requires minimal effort to extract high quality masks for foregrounds with significant
semitransparent regions. In addition, the foreground colors are estimated in the semi-
transparent areas to create a seamless composite.

What was once thought of as the Holy Grail of digital imaging is now a reality with EZ Mask.

Power Mask is the first realtime, interactive tool capable of extracting
almost any object in an image--even if you are dealing with fine hair detail,
smoke, or reflections. As you simply paint along the edge of the object to be
extracted, either the mask or the final composite can be revealed instantly.
This extraction process creates what is known as a mask--essentially a black
and white cutout. White mask areas are extracted, black areas not, and gray
areas in between represent a level of transparency. Once a mask is extracted,
the foreground object can be seamlessly composed onto a new background in Adobe
Photoshop as well as apply filter and image corrections only within the area
defined by the mask.

roughly paint a stroke along the boundary of the foreground object. Results show that

and intuitively perform targeted adjustments. Instead of meticulously selecting
regions or hand-painting masks, regions of interest are isolated by drawing a
few simple brush strokes with adjustments then made only in those areas.
Strokes can be assigned multiple adjustments and effects such as color correction,
recoloring or desaturation, colorization of black and white images, blur, fill
light for dimly lit image areas and Diffusion/Glow.

Ozone is a unique filter that allows photographers, designers, and artists
to manipulate the color of an image with incredible flexibility and accuracy.
Inspired by Ansel Adams's Zone System for still photography, Digital Film Tools
has created "The Digital Zone System." To reproduce the infinite palette of colors,
tones, and brightness of the world around us, the Digital Zone System takes the
spectrum of image values and divides them into 11 discrete zones. With Ozone, the
color and brightness of each zone can be independently adjusted until you've painted
a new picture. All zones can be adjusted and viewed in context, and you don't have
to commit to the adjustments until all zones are corrected.

DFT Snap V.2.5

Snap is an easy to use interactive image cutout tool designed to extract solid or opaque objects.

Image cutout is the process of removing or isolating an object in a picture.


The extracted object can then be combined with another image or individually filtered in Adobe
Photoshop or Photoshop Elements. The challenge becomes defining which parts of the image are
foreground, the portion to be cutout, and those which belong to the background. Snap provides instant
visual feedback by snapping an editable curve to an object's boundary even if it has vague or low
contrast edges. This is made possible by utilizing unique graph-cutting and segmentation algorithms.

More accurate results are achieved in a shorter amount of time than using existing tools and techniques.

For the most difficult of image cutouts, Snap also includes the ability to manually create paths using
an intuitive and easily editable shape format called X-Splines. A path is an outline created by placing
sequential points along an object. Think of it as connecting the dots if you will. X-Splines are designed
to make user manipulations as intuitive as possible. The points that make up X-Splines can be of three
different types: Cardinal, Polygon or B-Spline and can be changed before, after or during the creation
of the path. Manually drawing a path is often a good solution for objects that can´t be extracted in any
other way and using X-Splines is a vast improvement over existing shape and path creation methods.
